New Gantry CNC Milling Machine Installed at Posidonia

At Posidonia’s 6,000 m² production site—encompassing workshops, warehouses, and offices—we design, manufacture, inspect, and certify a full range of anchors, chains, deck equipment, and mooring & towing systems.

To guarantee precision machining of Duplex stainless steel—a material superior to AISI 316L for marine applications—as well as stainless and carbon steel, Posidonia has operated two CNC milling machines with 3x3 meter worktables for several years.

We have now added a new gantry-type CNC SELCA 3045 with a working range of 3000 x 1000 x 1200 mm, expanding our capacity and giving us full control over quality and delivery times.

Manufacturing HHP Anchors from Solid Duplex Bars

The new machine was recently used to manufacture anchor shanks for our PTW® HHP anchors, machined from solid Duplex bars weighing 3,500 kg. These High Holding Power anchors offer a 25% weight reduction compared to traditional mass anchors, increasing vessel efficiency and lowering fuel consumption.

This investment confirms our strategy to maintain in-house control over production and ensure certification with IACS and NAVY standards, even for custom anchor systems.
