What is Crown Shackle?
The crown shackle is a kind of shackle generally installed on the top of the shank of the anchor and is essential for the connection to the chain cable.
As it's part of the anchor is then tested together with the anchor and that's why there's only an indication of Proof load and not of the breaking load.
When the crown shackle is installed on an existing anchor keep in mind that it has to be welded on both parts of the main pin. Remember to check the width and hole diameter of the head of your anchor in order to order the right size and last check weight and type of your anchor in order to be sure about the right proof load of your new crown shackle.
